Cover your Cornhole

Got your attention huh? :-)

We recently created a space for less than $50.00.

We found two Bean Bag game platforms while "Curbside Treasure Hunting".

Bean Bag Toss games (otherwise known in the South as "Cornhole") are wood platforms built with a hole at the top of the board and two legs.

Supplies Used:
Gorilla Glue
2 Pieces of 2x4 fit to size
White Paint
Jute
Bamboo
4 Metal Gromments
Mexican Tile
Tile Adhesive & Grout in One
Fabrice for Pillows and Canopy

Since the platforms only had two legs, we found a piece of scrap wood cut it in half and added legs to make a bench.

We added some Mexican tile we bought about a year ago from a garage sale and they fit perfectly around the border of the bench.

Once the legs were added we wrapped jute around the legs to give it a more uniform look and sealed it with Gorilla Glue to protect it from the outside elements.

Our assistant Cody helps with the handy work.

The canopy was constructed with bamboo from the backyard and a piece of durable fabric from the Thrift Store.

We attached grommets to each corner of the fabric and tied it to the frame with jute.

Once the prep work was done all we needed were some pillows and finishing touches. Mom found the pillows from the Thrift Store and luckily we had the perfect color fabric in stock to sew covers for them.

We also decided to add an unexpected touch by adding a mirror we found at the curb behind the bench. It makes the space feel a little more glamorous.

So there you have it, Cornhole to Chic. A bench constructed from a Cornhole platform and a space transformed for less than $50.00.

This will be our "Zen" zone to unwind from a long day.

~Namaste~

Wow,I had heard the term cornhole and wondered what it meant. I thought it was a term for shut your mouth. lol Your project came out really well. Do you have bamboo growing in your yard and if so, how did you get the bamboo stripped? I love the pool the most. My dream is to have a pool one day.

The title did catch my attention, but so did the beautiful color of the cushions! I thought the same thing as Kat (I'm also from California). The space is gorgeous and the bench is so beautiful. The tile on the sides looks great. Well done!
