We found the perfect pallet on the side of the road. It was already a nice blue color which was perfect for the Union Jack coffee table we had in mind.
We used chalk to map out the flag and added a color code to use as a guide. The coffee table was painted with left over Red, White and Blue paint we had in the garage. Once the paint dried we used an old wash rag to apply a Burnt Umber glaze to give it a more worn look.
Now we have more storage for our magazines and books! Keeps clutter off the table and it stays neat and tidy!
The overall cost of this project was only $14.00 for the casters we purchased at Home Depot. Everything else we had on hand. Not too shabby!
Or does she? Hmmmm....LOL
If you are on a budget, don't be shy...go Curbside shopping. Style it up to make it super chic. Have fun with it. You never know what you will end up with. :-)
Until next time.....

This is BRILLIANT! I made a flag this summer on the back of a composter made from pallets. Painted everything white, then wove exterior-grade ribbon in and out to make the blue field and red strips. Yours is even more amazing!

great table, I love England ... good inspirfation for me! thanks! I will follow your blog :)
ReplyDeleteWas browsing on internet and saw this. Unfortunately not many people know that the blue pallet is the Property of Chep International. It is illegal to have this pallet in your possession even if it is on the side of the road. Just a heads up to all pallet lovers. There is a hefty fine should they find this in your possession. I used to work for CHEP international.
ReplyDeleteI just love what you have done with the British flag, it looks like a cool "Brandish". And having those pallets in the living room makes your room looks better decorated. I simply looks amazing because this is simply very few have. Im very fan of DIY designs and decoration
ReplyDeleteNice DIY table pallet project. I will use mine as frame to my indoor koi pond
