Two Faced

"If you're gonna be two faced at least make one of them pretty."

~Marilyn Monroe

One of the many projects we have been working on is transforming a very small bedroom into a glamorous space for a teenage girl.

Our To Do List:.
~Keep it simple and streamlined
~Repurpose/Reuse items and incorporate into new design
~White walls no color
~Replace old nightstand
~New Headboard
~Artwork
~Window Treatments
~Storage Options

We had a plan so we got started. We found the nightstand at the curb. It still surprises us how many treasures are thrown out every day. It's Crazy!

"Ugly Face"

Debbie worked her magic by cleaning it up, sanding it and then painted it with a gorgeous shade of Red called "Maine Lobster" by Martha Stewart. Thanks Martha!

"Pretty Face"

The Marilyn Monroe artwork was scored for $1.00 at a garage sale. It is just a cheap picture really but paired with the nightstand and accessories it looks very glamorous and expensive.

The trays and Vintage Liquor bottles were purchased from a Thrift Store for a couple of dollars.

We purchased the lamp on clearance from TJ Maxx. The lamp does need some work. The base is fine but the lampshade is bent and is pretty messed up. We loved the Mercury glass look and were happy to pay the "As is" price of $19.99 for the lamp.

"Pretty Face"

The headboard was purchased from Craigslist for $20.00. The seller originally had it listed for only $10.00! We offered double the price if we could trump the other potential buyers. It was totally worth the extra $10.00 don't you think?

The mirror in the corner was found at a Thrift Store for $15.00. Some of the molding is missing but we were able to hide it by placing it in the corner.

Check out our follow up project for this space...We Need To Talk.
